Friends with Flair

Welcome to Friday and another Friends with Flair Unity Style. This week I decided to play with a new kit I got called "Sweets for my Sweet":

I actually pulled the sentiment from an other kit just because. This cute card will hit my etsy shop soon!

Keeping this short and simple today! It's been one busy week.

Happy New Year!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas!

Today I wanted to share with you a mixed media piece.

This was my inspiration:

And here is the piece I came up with:

This is a fun mixed media piece on 6x6 canvas board. I used Christmas tissue paper as a base. My son came home with small gifts from his teacher wrapped in fun Christmas tissue paper. He didn't want to let me have it at first then he said ok. LOL! The snowman is created from some Basic Grey papers and the stamps I used in the background and on the snowman (the flourish) are all from Unity Stamp Co.

Close up:

Well thanks for stopping by!

Have a fabulous Holiday!

Till later.....

12 Days of Christmas Day 11 - Friends with Flair Friday

It's Friday and Christmas Eve is tomorrow! I can't believe how fast time goes by. Today I have something for Friends with Flair Unity Style!

I have fun little "cutting boards" or "paddles" that I picked up in the unfinished wood section of Michael's. And for today's project I altered it using a poinsettia paper napkin as my base:

I used Unity and {ippity} kits on this project. The one {ippity} kit I used is called Gingham Christmas. I layered the poinsettia by cutting another flower out and adhering it to a piece of grungeboard and cutting it out. Using hot glue I put it on top of the flower image to create a dimensional look.

Well that's all for now!

The 12 Days of Christmas! - Day 1

This year I have decided to do a little 12 days of Christmas! My son just pointed out this morning that there are 12 days left till Christmas so why not have some fun!

I will share all Christmas projects, images etc. Many may be some of my old time favorites that I created and some will be new.

'tis the season for some crafty fun!

I love following Tim Holtz's 12 Christmas Tags every year and usually like to play along. This year I just didn't get a chance except for one.

So mine came out looking pretty simple it doesn't have that wow factor like in Tim's but what the heck! :-)

Stay tuned each day for more Christmas fun! I just may have more than one on some days to share with you! Many things may even be listed in my Etsy shop!

Happy Holidays!

Friends with Flair

It's Friday and time for Friends with Flair Unity style. This week I made another canvas. This size is I believe 6 x 12 and it is a stretched canvas. I used Webster Pages papers and embellishments and of course Unity Stamps.

I also shared this on the Unity Facebook page as they are having a Christmas themed contest going on right now.

I used Tim Holtz grungeboard to create dimension with the flowers on bottom and the tree on the right.

Be sure to swing on by the Unity Blog to see who is playing along today for FWF!

Ho, Ho, Ho - A Christmas Canvas

This canvas was just fun fun using an 8 x 8 stretched canvas.

First I painted the canvas in a fun green acrylic paint. Then using mod podge glued down various pieces of pattern paper for the background. The center section where the fun tree is, is actually a paper Christmas napkin!

This is the actual package of napkins:

How much fun is that? I keep finding cool looking napkins at dollar and discount stores! To create the tree in the middle I adhered it to some grungeboard and used mod podge to adhere. Then using dimensionals I adhered it to the canvas to create dimension. Then I used stickles for the glitter on it.

I used some stamps on this as well. In the background I used some Unity Stamp Co. background stamps. The Santa image is by Tim Holtz and the "believe" is by Memory Box.

Well that's all for now!

Stay tuned for a new release from Queen Kat Designs tonight.

Till later!

Buttons Galore and More Challenge!

OK I am on a roll today! Well, we had internet connectivity issues this weekend so I haven't been able to post some projects that I wanted to. So here is my second post today for a challenge over at Buttons Galore and More!

I LOVE buttons! What fun! You may have seen my last post with buttons for the Moxie Fab World Challenge. I am submitting that one as well as this frame for the Buttons Galore challenge. It does ask for a card or tag for the challenge. I hope submitting these guys together is ok though.

So I took a small (5x5)wooden frame and painted it red, added some fun paper and then buttons! The snowflaks were labeled buttons even though they don't have the button holes! LOL!

And here is my Christmas card with fun buttons. I thought this would make a cute pair for a gift:

Thanks for stopping by!

Moxie Fab World Challenge

I decided to play along with the Random Challenge over at Moxie Fab World. If you haven't been over there it's run by the wonderful folks from Paper Crafts and is awesome! I'm trying to get on board and play some challenges and have fun.

So the random challenge is to use button(s), a mustache(s), or an alcoholic beverage on your card. I love buttons so I went with that one.

Here is what I came up with using paper from Graphic 45:

Be sure to go check it out (MOXIE FAB WORLD) and play along with this or one of the other challenges they have going on right now!

Just Us Girls Color Challenge!

This week the Just Us Girls challenge is a color challenge; Red, Green & White. What a great challenge to make some Christmas Cards!

Here is what I came up with using Unity Stamps:

I embossed the tree with green and red embossing powder. The star on top is actually one of those foamies from Michael's. It was on a page of stars my daughter made and gave to me, I kind of "stole" one from there. I'll have to show her because I think she would love it.

Be sure to swing on by the JUST US GIRLS BLOG and visit all Design team girlies to see what they cooked up and leave them some love.

How to play: You need to upload your project for this week's challenge to your online blog or public photo gallery. Leave a link that goes directly to your project in the Linky Tools form at the bottom of the JUGS POST HERE. If you upload to online galleries, please also use the keyword or tag, JUGS111. After you post to Linky Tools you can also leave a comment here.

Deadline to be considered for the "Chic of the Week" is 9:00 PM EST on Thursday, November, 24. The Linky Tools form will close at that time. Our top pick, "Chic of the Week", will be announced on the following Friday morning.

Unity Friends with Flair

It's Friday and time for another Friends with Flair. This week I have some magnets to share with you. It's a school theme using some Unity sentiments. I've been making alot of magnets lately to sell in my Etsy Shop Ria Creations and to sell at fairs. This one is a custom order for personalization for a teacher gift.

The sentiment "thanks" and "my teacher" are from Unity kits. My papers are random ones I had in my stash.

Here is a picture including the front of the tin:

That's all for now! Be sure to swing by the Unity blog and check out what others came up with via the linky.
