Unity Challenge - Fashion Forward

Unity Stamp Co now has a monthly challenge which can be found right on their blog.

Last month I didn't get a chance to play along but now I'm back on track ad got something for this month. The challenge this month is basically a theme called "fashion forward". Here is what I came up with using Undeniably You.

So here is the deal about the dress: I stamped it ad then paper pieced it, nice right? THEN I got a little bit of black ink from my hand in the white space near the dress so I had to do something and I smudged in some black in around it for a "look". So actually in this picture it doesn't look that bad I guess. In person it's a little odd to me but I went with it! Sometimes you just have to roll with it! That's all for now! Till later....

Queen Kat Designs Wednesday

Welcome to the middle of the week and another Queen Kat Designs creation using the awesome Amy Brown fairies! Today I used Spell Caster Fairy.

Since taking the "She Art" Class with Christy Tomlinson I've been loving working on canvas board and paints. Today I used Queen Kat Deisgns Spell Caster image by Amy Brown.

Here is what I came up with:

This is a 4x6 canvas board. I started with paints, then some stamping for the background. Added some random pieces of papers, stamped over them. Stamped and cut out the fairy, paper piecing her dress. All the images you see are Queen Kat Designs.

It's different from making standard cards and scrapbook pages. I love going out my comfort zone with this stuff. I have a few art journals I enjoy working in as well. But I am not leaving the comfort and fun of making cards!

I used the following Queen Kat Designs stamps for this piece:

Aged Text
Butterfly Writings
Friends Forever

Just Us Girls Color Challenge Week and Sponsor!

It's time for another Just Us Girls Challenge. This week it's color challenge week and we have a fabulous sponsor! Paper Makeup Stamps is sponsoring this week's color challenge.

The colors are in Stampin Up color names: Baja Breeze, Soft Sky, Pink Pirouette, and So Saffron. Now of course you don't have to use those exact SU colors but colors that come close to them. And of course I actually didn'th ave any of those SU in colors in my SU paper stash! But here is what I came up with using the wonderful image called "Natalie".

I went pretty simple but I think it works ok.

Today is a very busy day here as we are celebrating my babies 5th Birthday with all their friends from school, at the house! OH MY! Fingers crossed all goes well! :-)

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to swing on by the JUST US GIRLS DT as I know they will have amazing inspiration for you!

Growing in Unity Day 5 and Friends with Flair Friday!

I can't believe it's Friday already, Day 5 of my GIU and Unity Friends with Flair Friday! I also can't believe I pulled off 5 projects for this week. I jumped in GIU this week at the last minute which was totally awesome but I thought I would end up doing a "rewind" day or something. BUT I managed to pull it off and loved all that I made and I hope you did also!

Today I have one more canvas piece to share with you! It's not a She Art but I'm sure I'll have more of that next week! My "babies" are turning FIVE one Monday, sniff sniff! So I decided to pull out their new born baby picture and do something with it on a 6x8 canvas board.

Here is what I came up with:

I used Treasure to Me and This is the Time.

Close up of some of the stamping the flower. I stamped on the flower for texture and used my finger and ink for the middle. I used StazOn Ink.

Be sure to check out the Unity Kit of the Month Club! It's fabulous and WELL worth the $26!!!

Be sure to leave a comment today as well because I will pick a winner from my Growing in Unity this weekend! Bear with me though as we are having the kids party tomorrow at the house with like 20 kids and parents! Sigh..... I hope the weather is nice outside so they can go out! LOL!

Well that's all for now!

Growing in Unity Day 4

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It's day 4 of my Growing in Unity Week! Thanks to all who stopped by each day!

Well I promised another "She Art" and today I have one. Christy Tomlinson is the "She Art" lady and she totally rocks! I am so glad I took her workshop. The She Art workshop will begin again in April with instant access to all 3 weeks! If you happen to sign up tell Christy I sent ya!

So here is my next She Art girl. This week we worked with background scenes in the class. This is on a 6x8 canvas board. Love these things! My girl's head turned out a big small but I just went with it. That is what I love about this type of art it's just that art so you can do what you want!

All the stamped images on this piece are of course Unity a mix of them.

Be sure to leave a comment as I will pick a random winner from all my comments this weekend!

That's it for now!

Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome to Day 3 of my Growing in Unity week! Today I pulled out last month's Kit of the month which had not been used at all yet, eek! Here is what I came up with using those awesome lanterns:

I have another "artsy" piece on my desk from the "She Art" class (if you happen to sign up for this class be sure to tell Christy I sent ya) on which I did use all Unity Stamps so I'm hoping that will be something I can share for Thursday or Friday.

Growing In Unity! Day 1

This week I'm taking the Growing In Unity week. So I'm pulling together some new things and some that I haven't even blogged yet.

I've been taking the "She Art" class with Christy Tomlimson and have been LOVING IT! I higly recommend it! And Christy is re-releasing the class April 1 with instant access to the full 3 weeks, how cool is that! Tommorrow starts my third and final week so sad! All my She Art creations have been made mostly with my Unity Stamps so I will be sure to share them all. I posted a few on Friday for Friends with Flair Friday HERE. Today I have a new one.

This is a "scene" with my girl. The technique here was creating pleats in her dress. I didn't quite round out or "finish" the bottom of her dress. But I figured I'd just leave it and go with it. Now of course all of my stamped images here are Unity: The flowers, the "bugs", the swirls on bottom. The big blue dots I created using a Cuttlebug die. I have the "honeycomb" die set. This set has a die that cuts something that looks like a honeycomb with holes in it and it has a flower die as well. I didn't have punchanella that you hear many talk about, the sequin waste. So I used this instead. I used paint with it. The pattern papers you see here are from My Mind's Eye and the "text" paper I used for her head, arms, legs are from Stampin Up.

Check out the beads around the sun in the upper left corner. That is liquid beads. Cool stuff actually, basically just beads in a jar of glue. But it works so well! Here is a close up:

I've been having a blast with these "She Art" girls! I have also started some art journaling in books so much fun. It's all so different from creating basic cards so I've been having a blast! Never fear I'm still card making just exploring other artsy things!

Be sure to swing by each day and leave me a comment as I will pick a random winner from all comments at the end of the week!

Thanks for stopping by!
